Short answer: the blood sample is taken in Baku, but the test itself is done abroad. On our last check there was no laboratory in Azerbaijan on the European Commission's list of approved rabies serology labs, so the serum has to travel, chilled, to an approved lab. The result must be at least 0.5 IU/ml.
What usually goes wrong
- Blood taken before the microchip was implanted or read — the result cannot be linked to the animal.
- The sample spoils in transit because the cold chain was broken, and the whole step has to be repeated.
- The chip number differs by one digit between the passport, the lab form and the certificate.
- Owners start too late and the 3-month wait runs past their moving date.
PetMapa handles the whole step: we take the blood, ship the sample to an approved laboratory, receive the result and add it to the document set, together with the AQTA export certificate. Send a photo of the pet passport on WhatsApp or Telegram and your moving date — we will check it for free.
